Scholarships


The Webster Groves Nature Study Society offers two scholarships that are normally given annually:  
Menke Scholarship for Wildlife Habitat
Mickey Scudder Scholarship in Field Biology

The Menke and Scudder scholarships have been established and are funded by the families of late WGNSS members.

  Menke Scudder
eligibility undergraduate and graduate students in Missouri colleges and universities graduate students in St. Louis area universities
emphasis improvement of wildlife habitat field biology
possible fields of study natural history, environmental education, ecological research or management, natural horticulture, fisheries and wildlife, forestry, conservation, others ornithology, systematics of plants or animals, entomology, forestry, ecology, behavior, population
genetics, others
use of award field work, attendance at off-campus courses field work
amount of award variable, up to $1,400 typically $1000
application due February 10 February 10
notification  April 1 April 1
funds awarded by  June 1 June 1
