CONSERVATION
Nov. 88 Molyneaux, John An amendment to continue the sales tax to fund the work needed
to maintain and improve state paarks and reduce soil loss
will be on the Nov. 6 election ballot as Amendment No. 7.
Volunteers are needed to man phone banks, etc., on election day
Dec. 88 Widmer, Rad The Board has approved the concept of adopt-a-highway and is
seriously considering a 2 mile stretch of I-44 between Lewis Road 
and Hwy. 141.  Anyone interested in supporting or leading this
effort should call Widmer.

to the birding community was a paper pointing out the 
precipitous decline in bird populations is partially due to habitat
reduction in the U.S..  The slaughter of rain forests in the tropics
is not the only cause.
