    Ornithology - Marge Self
Jan. 68 Bromet, Andrew The new editor appalled at how much material it takes to fill an
eight page issue of Nature Notes.  Urges members to think of
themselves as naturalists rather than as birders, rockhounds, etc.
and submit papers in diverse fields such as conservation, botany,
geology, astronomy, etc.  "Don't insulate  yourself from enjoyment
of nature in its entirety."
Feb. 68 An "unusual bird" alerting system to be known as BIRD CALL is
in the final planning stages.  Full details will appear in March Notes.
Apr. 68 Bromet, Andrew Keep those articles coming in!!!  I need to fill those big white
spaces.  Put in a plug for your favorite nature field.  Right now I
wouldn't even rule out an article about plankton in the Indian Ocean.
May. 68 Bromet, Andrew Bits and Pieces by the editor.  Various musings, including some
about plankton and about a sparse response for last month's
appeal for articles.
May.68 Bromet, Andrew For those who have timely articles to offer.  Notes are usually
in final layout by the 15th of the month.  Untimely articles are
welcome at any untimely time.
Jun. 68 Bromet, Andrew  Bits and Pieces from your Angry Editor.  Ten major contributors for
the first five issues of a society of over two hundred.  Shameful. Don't
be afraid to write; I'd rather pick and choose than try to squeeze
out a full issue from the dregs of nothing.  I hate plankton!
Jy-Ag. 68 Bromet, Andrew  Bits and Pieces - The squeaky wheel got grease.  I had enough
articles come in for the current month.  But, except for the July
Skies article, all were bird oriented.  When have we last had an
article on animals or reptiles or insects?  And nothing on botany
despite some wonderfully successful field trips.
Dec. 68 Bromet, Andrew The Nominating Committee composed of Bertha Massie, Kathryn
Arhos and Bill Brush propose the following slate of officers for
WGNSS for 1969:
  President - Paul Bauer
  1st. VP - Burrell Pickering
  2nd VP - Peg Feigley
  Secretary - Jeanine Delgman
  Treasurer - Dick Anderson
Curator of Properties - Bill Brush
  Editor - Andy Bromet
