Jan. 37 O'Byrne, Harold, Pres. Mrs. A. E. Mueller - Mrs. Mueller, an "old reliable", died on Dec. 
13
Apr. 37 O'Byrne, Harold, Pres. Mr. C. E. Stones, for many years a member of the Society, died 
on March 25.  To Mr. Stones is due a large part of the credit
for the successful completion of the Lodge.
May. 37 WGNSS Member Attains National Fame - In the April issue of 
National Geographic, p. 516, Professor Arthur Christ is shown
by a large botanical specimen in the Saguaro National Forest,
east of Tucson, Arizona.
May. 37 Dr. Julian Steyermark has accepated the position of Assistant
Curator of Botany at the Field Museum of Natural History in 
Chicago.
May. 37 Mr. A. F. Satterthwait has been appointed to serve on the
Editorial Board of the Annals of the Entomological Society of 
America for the next three years.
May. 37 Mr. Harold O'Byrne has been appointed a member of the 
Editorial Board of the Bulletin of the Academy of Science of 
St. Louis
Jul. 37 News from Ames, Iowa:  Mr. Hugh Press, one of our members, has
a fellowship for special research during the summer months.
Jul. 37 Another Loss.  Harold and Olive O'Byrne will be lost to Urbana for
two years.  
Jul. 37 The Satterthwaits have invited members of the Society to come
to Urbana for the Fourth of July holidays.  But, bring a cot!
Sep. 37 Winchellism - Rumor has it that the Heinzes' infancticipation of

Feb. 37 Hill, Margaret (Editor) An. Appeal to W.G.N.S.S. Members:  We now have 198 members,
up 22 from last year at the same time.  But only about 50 are
active.  Discusses group programs that inactive people might be
interested in.   Mentions the Geology Group as the strongest.

Nov. 37 Gallagher, William E. Our Faith in the A N S S Is Justified.  The most important benefit 
is that membership gives WGNSS national standing through
the affiliation of A N S S with the American Assn. for the
Advancement of Science.  The Editor describes a meeting   with
Dr. Edith Patch, president of ANSS, at the home of the
Satterthwaits in Urbana, at which he was also present.

Aug. 37 Pickens, William Field Trip to Chautauqua and Pere Marquette State Park.
Stay at the cottage of Miss Magdalene Pfeiffer at Chautauqua, Ill.
Sep. 37 General Field Trip, Sunday, Sept. 19, 9 AM.  All creosote 
painters and wood choppers turn out to refurbish the Lodge.
Oct. 37 Highlights of the Chautauqua Expedition, Sept. 4-6, 1967.
Attendees included the Satterthwaits, Stuart and Mrs. O'Byrne,
