Description of Files:
In each file, the left column is the frequency in wavenumbers (units: 1/cm).
The right column is the chemical absorbance
(common logarithm based).
Fo0nat.dat is a tab delimited text file of the
merged mid- and far-IR thin film laboratory absorbance spectra of
a slightly impure fayalite, Fo0Te5, from Rockport, MA,
USA.
Fo0syn.dat is a tab delimited text file of the
merged mid- and far-IR thin film laboratory absorbance spectra of
synthetic fayalite, Fo0 (syn). See Finch et al. (1980) and
Hofmeister (1997) for more information on the sample itself.
Fo9nat.dat, Fo14nat.dat,
Fo31nat.dat are tab delimited text files of the
merged mid- and far-IR thin film laboratory absorbance spectra of
slightly impure olivines, Fo9Te2, Fo14Te2, Fo31Te1 from
Kiglapait Intrusion, Labrador [see also Morse 1996].
Fo41nat.dat is a tab delimited text file of the
merged mid- and far-IR thin film laboratory absorbance spectra of
an olivine Fo41 from Rustenberg, Transvaal, S. Africa.

synthetic hortonolite (Fo50). Sample was provided courtesy
of B. Fegley and R. Burns [see also Burns & Huggins 1972].

synthetic forsterite (Fo100). Sample provided courtesy of
