A
one-semester course designed to introduce students to the study
of the Earth as a dynamic, evolving planet, with emphasis on how
internal and surface processes combine to shape the environment.
Themes will include:
  Earth's interior as revealed by seismic waves
  Earth history and global tectonics
  mountain building
  formation of continents
  earthquake activity and volcanism
  landscape evolution in a variety of settings
  climate history and global biogeochemical cycles
  atmospheric and oceanic circulation
  ice ages
  the influence of man
NOTE- EPSc 201 replaces EPSc 200A; you can not get credit for both.
