A
one-semester course designed to introduce students to the study
of the Earth as a dynamic, evolving planet, with emphasis on how
internal and surface processes combine to shape the environment.
Themes will include:
- Earth’s
interior as revealed by seismic waves
- Earth
history and global tectonics
- mountain-building
- formation
of continents
- earthquake
activity and volcanism
- landscape
evolution in a variety of settings
- climate
history and global biogeochemical cycles

atmospheric and oceanic circulation
- ice
ages

the influence of man.
NOTE- EPSc 201 replaces EPSc 200A; you can not get credit for both |
