Dr. Brannon's research interests have included trace element
characterization of lunar and meteoritic materials, geochemical characterization
of physio-chemical processes predominating during the evolution of mafic
magmas, development of clean and mass spectrometry labs, early solar system
isotopic structure and geochronology, isotopic stratigraphy of sediments,
Sr isotopes as applied to diagenesis of carbonate sediments, isotopic
evolution of ore-forming fluids for Mississippi Valley-type (MVT) mineralization,
and radiometric dating of ore-deposits using 238U-206Pb
and 232Th-208Pb for calcite and 87Rb-86Sr
for sphalerite.
