How do we know about environments of the geologic past? Survey of paleoenvironmental proxies (stable isotopes, macroflora, macro- and micro-fauna, pollen/palynomorphs, paleosols, lacustrine sediments, etc.); applications and limitations of each proxy; analytical techniques. Focus on terrestrial, as opposed to marine, environments.
 
Prerequisites
  EPSc 201 or permission of instructor; EPSc 422 recommended
