Basic concepts of the structure of the Earth as related to the formation and evolution of the oceans and the atmosphere. Discussion of the evolutionary and variable states of the oceans and atmosphere, and of the role of biological processes in defining the present state of oceans and atmosphere. Predicted and interactive changes in the oceans and atmosphere in response to, and as a part of, potential global climate changes.
